About Us

Our History

The Building Hope Foundation, Inc. was established in 2004 by members of the Fairfield County home building community. The 501(c)3 organization assists the families, veterans and other charitable organizations of Fairfield County with structural improvements, access ramps, elevators, and safety doors, etc.  The Foundation also holds an annual scholarship competition.

The Building Hope Foundation is active in supporting charitable activities in Fairfield county communities. Past involvement has included participation in building handicap accessible ramps for clients of St. Vincent’s Special Needs Center, donations to the EJ’s House construction project in Ridgefield, the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition project in Bridgeport, Habitat for Humanity, the Marine Veterans of Fairfield County Inc and the Girls Scouts Cookies for the Troops program.

The Annual Gala and Silent Auction is the main fundraiser for the organization, allowing us to continue to cover costs for these valuable projects. Each year the Building Hope Foundation also awards the prestigious Building Hope Foundation Stars of Hope awards and the Steven Berko Community Service Award at its Annual Gala.​

Vision Statement

Our vision is to make a difference in the lives of families and service members of this community that will last a lifetime. We expect our board members to contribute their time & talent to our meetings, projects, fundraising and events. We also look for participation of each board member towards the monetary support of the foundation.
